your pet, worked into a piece of veg-tan leather by hand and set in a brass ring. The portrait is raised — you can feel the fur and the shape of the nose with a fingertip, which is why people carry these instead of a photo. Four sizes, and you can add a back personalisation, a belt loop or a cord.

Each portrait is carved into the leather with hand tools. Nothing is printed or stamped — the surface is raised, so it catches light and you can feel it.

Full-grain veg-tan leather
Italian full-grain vegetable-tanned hide, hand stitched with waxed linen thread and finished with solid brass hardware. It darkens and softens with handling, like a good wallet.

From a 6.5cm round tag up to a 12 by 8cm piece with two portraits. Tell us the size when you order.

You are in the loop the whole way
We keep in touch while your piece is being made, not just at the end. If the likeness is drifting, we say so and adjust. We keep at it until it looks like them — we are not going to ship something we would not carry ourselves.

Before we start

Every piece is carved and coloured by hand, one at a time. That means it will not be a pixel-for-pixel copy of your photo — hand work never is, and we would rather say that here than have you find out after it arrives. What it will do is read as your pet.

We message you while your piece is in progress and send photos along the way, so you can confirm the details — the ear set, the eye colour, the shape of the muzzle — while there is still time to change them. Every order is made by one person and gets the same care; there is no faster queue we quietly push yours into.

Questions people ask

Will it look exactly like my photo?
No, and we would rather say so now. It is carved and coloured by hand, so it will read as your pet rather than reproduce the photo exactly. We send photos while it is being made, so you can say "that is not his ear" before it ships rather than after.
What if the first attempt does not look like them?
Then we are not finished. We stay in touch while it is being made and show you where it is going, so you can say "that is not his ear" early rather than after it ships. We keep working on it until it reads as your pet.
How long does it take?
About one to two weeks to tool, then ten to fifteen days in transit. Much faster than a painting.
What photo do you need?
One clear, front-on photo in daylight. Sharp and evenly lit matters more than pretty — we work straight from it, and a blurry photo is the main reason a portrait comes out weaker. Colour in the photo matters too, since the eyes and coat are painted by hand from it.
Can I have two pets on one piece?
Yes — the 12×8cm size is made for two portraits. For three or more, message us and we will see what fits.
Can I add their name?
Yes. personalisation on the back is an add-on. Tell us the wording and we will confirm it fits before starting.
Can I return it?
No — it is tooled from your pet and nobody else would want it. If it arrives damaged or the portrait is wrong, we remake it or refund you.
